Gate Layer Ecosystem Partner Espresso Will Conduct an Airdrop for Gate Layer Users

According to official sources, an airdrop from Gate Layer ecosystem partner Espresso is set to go live soon. This airdrop will distribute Espresso partner tokens (ESP) to eligible Gate Layer on-chain users, as a reward for long-term participation and genuine interaction within the ecosystem.

1. Background

Espresso is a high-performance, modular base layer for rollups that provides secure, real-time confirmations in seconds, helping L2s achieve faster finality and a smoother multi-chain user experience. By integrating Espresso, Gate Layer can offer developers and users faster confirmations that improve the responsiveness of cross-chain use cases—like quicker bridging, better UX for multi-chain DeFi, and more seamless liquidity movement and coordination across networks.

Through integrations across the rollup ecosystem, Espresso is working to make cross-chain composability feel closer to “single-chain” interactions—while maintaining decentralized security guarantees for confirmations.

For Gate’s broader ecosystem, faster confirmations can also unlock a more seamless experience for exchange-adjacent workflows such as quicker, more predictable cross-chain transfers and settlement that reduce waiting and uncertainty for users moving assets between networks. Espresso’s roadmap targets even faster confirmations over time (including subsecond confirmations), supporting an end-state where multi-chain actions feel near-instant.

This event will be evaluated based on on-chain activity on Gate Layer and usage of Gate Fun, with a focus on active users and high-quality addresses.

2. Airdrop Eligibility (Gate Layer Users)

Gate Layer wallet addresses that meet the following criteria will be included in the airdrop snapshot:

• Wallets with any transaction activity on Gate Layer, including interactions with Gate Fun, Swap, and other on-chain applications
• Addresses with only transfer activity (no actual usage) will not be included

The airdrop prioritizes identifying real usage behavior, encouraging long-term participation in the Gate Layer ecosystem.

• Airdrop registration is currently open, and eligible users will be able to claim their airdrop allocations after ESP token launch;
