Guojin Securities: Humanoid Robots Kick Off Year One of Mass Production, Materials Sector Sees Opportunity
Jinshi data, February 27th news, Guojin Securities research report stated that with the mass production of humanoid robots entering its first year, upstream core chemical new materials will continue to benefit from it. From the structure of humanoid robots, the materials involved in the “brain” and “cerebellum” are AI materials, and the “limb” part requires the application of chemical new materials to achieve lightweight and “perception” functions. In terms of application direction, the materials that mainly help robots achieve lightweight are high-end engineering plastics and carbon fiber. Among them, high-end engineering plastics include polyetheretherketone (PEEK), polyamide (PA), polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), liquid crystal polymers (LCP), thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), and ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE); the main materials involved in helping robots achieve perception and interaction capabilities with electronic skin are flexible sensors and substrate materials, among which the two most widely used flexible substrate materials are polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and polyimide (PI) films.
