Don't remind me again today

Suddenly saw a sentence - "The smartest thing about AI is not that it can calculate, but that it understands you."

I was stunned for two seconds, thinking: how does it understand me? I don't even understand my ex.
Later, upon careful consideration, it really is the case. The "intelligence" of AI relies on data. Whoever has more data has a smarter model. But here's the problem—now the publicly available data has been exhausted, and for AI to continue to improve, it will have to rely on "private data".

Private data is the traces we leave online every day - what takeout you ordered today, what you searched for, how many times you watched a certain video, all of these are.
The problem is that in the past we were all afraid to share. Afraid of being sold, afraid of being spied on, afraid of being used. And what was the result? The more data there is, the more valuable it becomes, but none of the profits come to us.

It wasn't until later when I researched two projects: @brevis_zk and Vana, that I felt there was a chance for this.
The logic of Brevis is very simple:
You can let others "use" your data, but others cannot see it.
With the technology of zero-knowledge proofs (ZK), others can verify that "the calculation result is true," but cannot see "what data you submitted."
It's like telling someone your weight is 100 jin (calculated result), but not letting them see how you measured it (original data).

Vana has added another piece to what they are doing:
It allows users to form a "data community," where everyone voluntarily shares data, creating a "data asset pool."
For example, if 1000 people contribute health data and exercise data, AI can train models without leaking privacy. The money earned by the models will be distributed back to everyone.

With these two paired together, the logic becomes clear:
Brevis is responsible for "security and trust", while Vana is responsible for "organization and distribution".
One is for "proof of cryptography", and the other is for "economic closed-loop".
The final result achieved is:
You control your data, your privacy is protected, and you can still earn money.

This is not only a turning point for AI but also a rewriting of the trust structure.
In this new world, data is no longer a mine monopolized by platforms, but rather the "means of production" in our own hands.
One day, when AI says "I understand you" again,
That's not because it was peeking at you,
But because - you taught it with your own hands.
