Just now I was organizing photos on my phone and thought of Irys's data programmability
It's not just about photos; our daily transaction records, health reports, social media content, and other information are recorded and stored, then remain static
Currently, most "data chain" states: data is only stored without autonomous actions, requiring external programs to trigger; it’s also costly, slow, and prone to fragmentation
For someone like me who enjoys exploring, I focus more on tasks and projects. I don’t fully understand the research behind them, but Irys is an exception
Irys enables "data to work for people," with very broad applications. Considering that major capital firms like Framework Ventures, CoinFund, and Hypersphere Ventures are interested, its prospects look promising!
The design philosophy of Irys is to give data a mission: each piece of data in the Irys system not only contains its content but also carries a set of "instructions." These instructions can specify:
√ Who can access it;
√ Which applications can call it;
√ What actions to automatically trigger when used (such as revenue sharing, verification, encryption, etc.).
At the same time, Irys embeds these logics into the IrysVM execution environment. This allows all operations to be completed directly on-chain without needing to call other chains or rely on complex intermediaries.
The benefits of this approach are lower costs, faster execution speeds, and more secure data usage!
For example, I upload a character file to Irys, embedding 👇 rules:
- Anyone can use or purchase authorization for this character;
- Each time the character is used or displayed, 10% of the revenue is automatically sent to you;
- The data must remain encrypted and cannot be copied without permission.
When other developers load this character into their games, 👇:
- IrysVM automatically handles royalty distribution;
- The file’s encryption rules prevent theft;
- It can even track how this data flows between different applications.
The entire process requires no manual intervention or settlement. The data completes the full cycle from authorization, usage, to revenue sharing on its own. This is the programmability Irys aims to achieve!
Looking ahead, we might see:
√ Automatic payment of file fees;
√ Automated collaboration of data assets;
√ Seamless and transparent data flow between applications.
In the past, data was "used by people," but Irys makes "data work for people."
The official mainnet progress bar has been updated to 69%. Based on the previous 60%, it’s estimated that the mainnet launch might happen around early December.
So, Irys enthusiasts, keep working on your tasks. It seems their team values the community highly, and their products have broad applications. Hope the project team has a big vision and that TGE brings great rewards!
