Google's parent company Alphabet spent $4.75 billion on the acquisition of clean energy company Intersect.

According to Mars Finance, Bloomberg reports that Google's parent company Alphabet has announced an acquisition of clean energy developer Intersect Power for $4.75 billion in cash and debt, to expand its AI data center power resources. This marks the first direct acquisition of a renewable energy developer by a major technology company, signaling Google's accelerated efforts to enhance its clean energy self-sufficiency. Intersect will maintain independent operations in terms of branding and team, continuing to be led by CEO Sheldon Kimber.
