THELEMA To Acquire B Medical Systems From Azenta Germany In $63 Million Deal
Azenta, Inc. (AZTA) disclosed that its subsidiary, Azenta Germany GmbH, has inked a definitive agreement to divest its B Medical Systems operations to THELEMA S.À R.L., a transaction valued at $63 million. B Medical Systems operates as a key player in the medical refrigeration devices sector, serving as both a manufacturer and distributor across multiple markets.
The divestiture represents a strategic decision by Azenta to refocus its operational footprint on high-impact core competencies. By exiting this business segment, the company aims to concentrate resources on areas with the greatest strategic relevance and growth potential. Management expects this portfolio streamlining to enhance operational efficiency and unlock value creation opportunities in the long term.
The transaction is projected to finalize on or before March 31, 2026. Capital proceeds generated from the sale will be deployed to fortify Azenta’s financial position and fuel sustained profitable growth initiatives moving forward.
On Nasdaq trading, Azenta’s shares closed at $34.75, reflecting a modest gain of 0.70 percent, suggesting measured market response to the divestiture announcement.
