The discussion about Bitcoin L2 has indeed heated up again recently, especially as many people are looking for ways to use Bitcoin without giving up custody rights. I noticed that GOAT Network's testing based on BitVM2 has reportedly reached 90%, and the mainnet seems to be close, giving the impression that the entire project is progressing at a steady pace.

GOAT Network is a native Bitcoin ZK Rollup with a straightforward goal: to make idle Bitcoin holdings generate returns. It doesn't rely on inflation models like issuing new tokens but instead turns real on-chain activities, such as Gas fees and MEV sharing, into sources of income. Some team members have previously been involved in ZKM and BitVM research, and they've been working on this since mid-2024, with a core focus on self-custody and genuine yields.
In recent updates from GOAT, I find a few points particularly impressive. One is on the technical side: they use the BitVM2-GC solution, which, according to the ZK House report at the end of the year, can reduce the cost of fraud proofs to extremely low levels, roughly thousands of times cheaper than traditional methods. This means that even when the network is congested and fees are high, dispute resolution remains feasible and more secure. Another is that they have accumulated over 113,000 followers, maintaining good on-chain activity, and their community incentives emphasize actual participation rather than just hype.
On the product front, through pilots with partners like Ditobanx, they have brought real users onboard, and currently, they can offer native #BTC income.
