A phased correction in a downtrend is part of normal market operation and not an unexpected reversal. Such rebound windows with clear support are the right time to lightly position for long positions.
Compared to trend-following short positions in a downtrend, long positions during a rebound are more of a short-term contrarian operation. Profit potential and market continuation are limited, so position management is the key premise: strictly reduce initial position sizes, avoid aggressive full or heavy positions, reasonably control the proportion of each position, reserve sufficient funds to cope with market fluctuations, and prevent small misjudgments from causing significant overall capital drawdowns.
At the same time, clear operational principles must be established. The core of rebound longs is "take profits when the market looks good," with predefined clear take-profit levels. Once the target is reached, decisively lock in profits, avoid greed and chasing highs; additionally, strict stop-loss measures are essential. If the market breaks below the rebound support level and reverts to the main downtrend, stop-loss immediately and exit, avoid holding positions or hesitation. Use disciplined operations to control risk, turning rebound long operations into an additional profit opportunity beyond trend-following shorts, rather than a risk point that disrupts the overall trading rhythm.
