Blockstream Research has successfully tested post-quantum cryptographic signatures on its Liquid Network sidechain and deployed a verifier for the SHRINCS signature scheme using its self-developed Simplicity smart contract language, without changing the network consensus mechanism. The team has broadcast real transactions on the Liquid mainnet in both stateful and stateless modes, providing users with an optional post-quantum resistant pathway. However, key components such as Bitcoin anchoring and consensus protocols still rely on traditional cryptography, and post-quantum solutions for these areas are still under development.
