Lloyd's Market Association (LMA): Insurance companies providing insurance services for ships intending to pass through the Strait of Hormuz

Abstract generation in progress

LMA CEO stated that we understand that insurance quotes are now available for ships intending to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. If shipowners determine that the timing is right in the future and there are no safety concerns for crew and vessels, the London marine war risk market will continue to provide coverage for these transit needs. Given the rapidly evolving situation, the feasibility of rescue services and the contractual relationships between charterers, shipowners, and cargo owners are uncertain. It is important to emphasize that the vast majority of these vessels are insured by the London market, and existing policies remain in effect.
