On March 5th, Premier Li Qiang delivered the government work report, stating that the main development goals for 2026 are: economic growth of 4.5%–5%, with efforts to achieve better results in practice; urban surveyed unemployment rate around 5.5%; over 12 million new urban jobs; consumer price index increase of about 2%; residents’ income growth synchronized with economic growth; basic balance of international payments; grain output around 1.4 trillion jin; and a reduction of approximately 3.8% in CO2 emissions per unit of GDP.
