U.S. Secretary of Defense Hagel said on the 4th that a U.S. submarine sank an Iranian warship in the Indian Ocean. The U.S. and Israel will achieve “full control” over Iran’s airspace within a week.

Hagel and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Cain held a press conference at the Pentagon on the same day. Hagel stated that on the 3rd, the U.S. used a submarine-launched torpedo to sink an Iranian warship in the Indian Ocean. This is the first time since World War II that a U.S. submarine has launched a torpedo against an enemy vessel.

He said that the U.S. and Israel will gain “full control” over Iran’s airspace within a week, and the attack on Iran is “accelerating.” More bombers and fighters arrived in the combat zone on the 4th. He also admitted that air superiority does not mean Iran will stop launching missiles.
