Reading is essentially a legitimate form of theft. With very little money and time, you can "take away" a person's lifetime of wisdom and experience. A book is often the result of the author's decades of thinking, trial and error, and summarization, while you only need a few hours to finish reading it. It's like directly walking the path of someone else's life for decades, avoiding many pitfalls they have stepped into. In this sense, reading is actually a low-cost form of "cheating" and "time travel." Through books, you can converse with emperors from thousands of years ago, philosophers from hundreds of years ago, and the top experts in various fields. At the same time, you'll realize that many of the pains, confusion, and problems you think are unique to you have actually been experienced and pondered by countless smart people, and the answers are left in the books.
