Wu says that Mastercard and Google are collaborating to launch the Verifiable Intent standardized trust layer, which provides verifiable authorization records for AI agent payments. This mechanism will be compatible with Google's Agent Payments Protocol (AP2) and Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), and integrated into the Mastercard Agent Pay intent API to support AI agents executing automated payments on behalf of users, while ensuring that authorizations and privacy are verifiable.
