Tencent App Store Launches Cross-Platform Open Platform
On March 3rd, Tencent App Store, in collaboration with Microsoft, Intel, Lenovo, Kantar, and others, released the “2026 Cross-Platform Ecosystem Industry White Paper,” which for the first time outlines five typical cross-platform user groups. The white paper points out that there is a significant gap between supply and demand in the cross-platform ecosystem, with approximately 66% of content-based applications currently supporting only mobile devices. To address core challenges faced by developers such as inconsistent user experience and high development costs, App Store has launched a cross-platform open platform offering native engines and monetization solutions. Currently, the Microsoft Store China region has launched an App Store dedicated section, introducing over 40,000 mobile applications; the cross-platform capabilities of App Store have also extended to in-vehicle and XR scenarios, with cumulative deployment exceeding 3 million and 1 million units respectively.
