[Repost] Ten years of trading cryptocurrencies, I've seen too many stories of accounts going to zero overnight.

Behind each one, it's almost always the same mistake — thinking you're an exception.

Last night, I received a voice message from a young brother in Foshan, speaking with a crying tone: “Bro, I had a tenfold long position with 10,000 USDT, and it only pulled back three points, and I lost everything...” I looked at his trading record.

The scene was all too familiar!

When I first started trading futures in 2013, I was the same way. I thought full margin would help me turn things around faster, but time and again, I爆到一无所有。

Only later did I realize that the true cruelty of this market isn't about how high the leverage is, but about having a position size far beyond what you can handle.

For example: if you use 900 USDT out of 1000 USDT to open a 10x leverage position, a 5% adverse move will wipe you out. But if you only use 100 USDT, even a 50% move might cause liquidation — the risk buffer is ten times larger.

After ten years of falling into countless pits, I’ve summarized three rules to survive:

1. Never open a position larger than 20% of your total funds.

For a 10,000 USDT account, invest at most 2,000 USDT each time. Even with a 10% stop loss, you only lose 200 USDT, which is not enough to threaten your core capital. This rule helped me survive the regulatory storm in 2017, when too many people were full margin and wiped out overnight.

2. Strictly limit single-loss to within 3%.

For example, with 2,000 USDT, set a 1.5% stop loss in advance; a 3% loss equals 300 USDT, which is exactly 3% of your total funds. Last year, a disciple I mentored kept爆仓每月, but after following this rule, he grew his capital from 5,000 to 8,000 USDT in three months.

3. Never add positions during volatile sideways markets.

When candlesticks are bouncing back and forth, no matter how promising it looks, don’t reach out. Wait until the trend truly emerges before acting.

In this market, lasting longer is far more important than earning quickly. Don’t let one impulsive move ruin all your opportunities!
