Google reduces the commission rate for app stores
On March 6, Google’s parent company Alphabet announced a systematic reform of the Google Play Store, agreeing to lower entry barriers for competitors and reduce developer fees.
Under the new plan, other companies only need to register with Google and pay a one-time fee to set up an app store on the Android platform. Google will also reduce the fees charged to developers from the standard 30% to as low as 15%, with subscription service fees potentially dropping to 10%. (Cailian Press)
