Dispute escalation: Hungary seizes a Ukrainian cash-in-transit vehicle

Hungarian tax authorities announced on the 6th that Hungary’s counter-terrorism unit intercepted two cash transport vehicles from a Ukrainian state-owned bank on suspicion of money laundering, detaining seven Ukrainian citizens. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry summoned the Hungarian chargé d’affaires in Ukraine on the same day, and the seven individuals were subsequently released. However, the Governor of Ukraine’s central bank stated that Hungary has not returned the seized assets. (Xinhua)
