People’s Financial News, March 7 — On the morning of March 7, the Fourth Session of the 14th National People’s Congress held a press conference focused on people’s livelihoods. Sun Yeli, Minister of Culture and Tourism, stated that the overall order of the cultural and tourism market is good, but still falls short of the public’s feelings and needs. Especially in recent years, as the cultural and tourism industries have developed rapidly, some longstanding issues remain unresolved, and new problems have emerged.

Work will focus on three areas. First, improving service quality and offering more high-quality service products. We need to focus on small but impactful matters that matter to the people, enhance precision and refinement in services, upgrade facilities to be more accessible and convenient, and make management more effective and services warmer.

Second, strengthening market regulation and cracking down on chaos. This year, we will continue joint special campaigns with relevant departments to target false advertising, illegal solicitation, forced consumption, and other issues. We will increase case investigations and public disclosures, strengthen credit supervision, streamline complaint channels for tourists, and sincerely welcome tourists to report problems promptly. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism will urge local authorities and enterprises to handle complaints promptly according to the “immediate response” requirement, ensuring satisfaction.

Third, maintaining safety bottom lines and increasing safety hazard inspections and rectifications. Beyond traditional scenic spots, new amusement venues are emerging, which help increase local employment and income. However, these venues often lack regulation and safety standards, are scattered across multiple areas, and are difficult to manage. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism will work with relevant departments to strengthen comprehensive governance, reinforce local responsibilities and corporate obligations, and promptly identify and resolve risks and hidden dangers.
