Michael Saylor's ambitious Bitcoin strategy: Strategy accumulates over $200 million
Michael Saylor, through his company Strategy (MicroStrategy Inc., MSTR), continues to strengthen its dominant position as the world’s largest institutional holder of Bitcoin. This aggressive accumulation strategy reached a new milestone last week with the purchase of 3,015 Bitcoins for approximately $204.1 million, at an average price of $67,700 per BTC.
This acquisition reflects Michael Saylor’s strong belief in the long-term value of Bitcoin as a store of value. Strategy financed this purchase by raising about $229.9 million through common stock sales, supplemented by $7.1 million from its perpetual Series A preferred stock (STRC).
MicroStrategy consolidates its dominance in Bitcoin accumulation
Following these new purchases, Strategy now holds an impressive portfolio of 720,737 Bitcoins, acquired for around $54.77 billion. This massive position results in an average acquisition cost of approximately $75,985 per Bitcoin, demonstrating Michael Saylor’s patience and strategic approach over several years of phased investments.
Bitcoin is currently trading at $67,380 according to the latest quotes, reflecting moderate market volatility. MSTR shares follow the overall cryptocurrency market trend, remaining sensitive to macroeconomic developments and regulatory announcements.
Expansion of stablecoins revitalizes the Latin American region
Meanwhile, the cryptocurrency market in Latin America is experiencing remarkable growth, with a 60% increase in transaction volume reaching $730 billion in 2025. This growth is mainly driven by the increasing adoption of stablecoins and cross-border transfer services.
Brazil and Argentina remain the engines of this regional growth, with Brazil leading in total transaction volume, while Argentina is seeing accelerated adoption of stablecoins for international payments and bypassing traditional banking barriers. This evolution highlights the growing relevance of crypto solutions in transforming economies.
