UAE President Remembers Sheikh Zayed's Legacy Of Compassion, Care For People

Every year on the 19th of Ramadan, the country marks Zayed Humanitarian Day, the anniversary of the passing of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al NahyanUAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on Sunday, shared a message on the occasion of Zayed Humanitarian Day.

"On Zayed Humanitarian Day, we reflect on the enduring legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose values of compassion, resilience, and care for people guide our nation, especially in challenging times," he said.

Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum paid tribute to the UAE founding father, saying the nation renews "the resolve and determination to keep humanitarian work as a fundamental pillar of our journey, our priorities, and our goals".

Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also remembered the "man who made compassion a way of life, and giving a mission".

Sheikh Zayed's spirit lives on in "in the hearts of all Emiratis, and in every hand that reaches out in kindness to those in need," he said. "The UAE remains, a symbol of goodness and humanitarian giving," Sheikh Hamdan added.

Zayed Humanitarian Day

UAE's founding father passed on a legacy of humanitarian aid, helping numerous countries develop and flourish. Every year on the 19th of Ramadan, the country marks the anniversary of the passing of the late Sheikh Zayed, and the nation pays tribute to his generosity.

From hospitals to entire cities, Sheikh Zayed funded crucial projects; from 1971 to 2004, the UAE, under his leadership distributed Dh90.5 billion in aid to 117 countries around the world.
