Theme Opportunities

PCB:

Recently, two major international giants announced price hikes, further confirming the “price increase” trend. First, Japan’s semiconductor materials giant Resonac announced on March 1 that the prices of copper-clad laminates (CCL) and adhesive films would be raised by over 30%. Subsequently, Mitsubishi Gas Chemical, a major Japanese electronic materials manufacturer, also announced price increases across its entire range of electronic materials, including CCL, Prepreg (resin substrates), and CRS (copper foil resin sheets), with a 30% increase, effective from April 1, 2026.

Additionally, PCB companies are resuming capital expenditure growth, boosting market sentiment. According to Dongwu Securities, in the first three quarters of 2025, the eight leading PCB companies’ capital expenditure reached 16.29 billion yuan, a 69% increase year-on-year, roughly matching the peak in 2021. In 2021, these eight companies spent a total of 17.1 billion yuan. From 2022 to 2024, the PCB industry experienced a three-year cooling period.

In terms of stocks, leading PCB firms (Shenghong Technology, Shennan Circuit, Huidian), drilling equipment (Han’s Laser, Han’s CNC), drill needles (Wolfram High-tech, Dingtai Technology, Xinrui Shares), solder paste printing equipment (Kaige Precision), and LDI equipment (Xinqi Micro-Assembly) are among the most watched segments.

Commercial Space:

Commercial space launches will intensify from late March to April, with models like Tianbing Tianlong No. 3, Interstellar Glory’s Double Curve No. 3, Blue Arrow Zhuque No. 3, Deep Blue Nebula No. 1, and CASIC’s Li Jian No. 2 entering orbit or undergoing recovery tests. Ping An Securities states that global commercial space is entering an “accelerated deployment, deepening commercialization, and global competition” phase. By 2025, the global commercial space market is expected to reach $500 billion, growing 4.1% year-on-year. Low Earth orbit satellite constellations, reusable rockets, and space economy derivatives are the main growth drivers, with industry chain companies expected to benefit continuously.

Besides rocket launches, key industry activities are also underway. From March 12 to 14, the first Shanghai Commercial Space Conference and Exhibition will be held, showcasing commercial launch vehicles, satellite technology, ground equipment, space applications, and supporting services. Over 550 companies will participate, presenting a comprehensive industry ecosystem from launchers and satellite development to core subsystems, high-end components, special materials, and ground control.
