Ohio Valley Banc Corp. was registered as a financial holding company under the Bank Holding Company Act of 1956. It was incorporated under Ohio law on January 8, 1992, and began operations on October 23, 1992. The company has a banking subsidiary, Ohio Valley Bank, and owns two non-banking subsidiaries, Loan Central and Ohio Valley Financial Services Agency, LLC, which engage in loan and insurance agency services. It also has two wholly owned special purpose trusts formed to issue trust preferred securities. Ohio Valley Banc also owns a minority stake in an insurance company. The company’s financial services are divided into two segments: banking and consumer finance. The bank primarily engages in commercial and retail banking, offering full-service financial products to consumers in southeastern Ohio and western West Virginia. Banking services include deposits, checking, savings, time, and money market accounts; personal, commercial, and student loans; and real estate and construction loan decision services. The bank also provides standard banking products such as IRAs, safe deposit boxes, and wire transfers.
