Chan Maobo: Hong Kong's economy is expected to grow by 2.5% to 3.5% in 2026

On February 25, Hong Kong SAR Financial Secretary Paul Chan delivered the government budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year. Paul Chan stated that, considering various factors, Hong Kong’s economy is expected to grow by 2.5% to 3.5% in 2026, with core inflation and overall inflation rates at 1.7% and 1.8%, respectively. In the medium term, he forecasted that Hong Kong’s economy will grow an average of 3% annually from 2027 to 2030, with an expected average annual core inflation rate of 2%.
