Generac settles $200M lawsuit over 2023 generator explosion
Generac Power Systems has agreed to a $206 million settlement in a lawsuit stemming from a 2023 portable generator explosion that injured six workers in Pennsylvania. The settlement, split between the company and its insurer, allows Generac to resolve all claims while denying any wrongdoing. The incident was linked to a GP15000E portable generator, a model recalled in September 2023 due to a fuel tank issue posing fire and burn hazards.
