Abstract generation in progress

New Hampshire energy officials are appealing to the state’s Supreme Court to review a decision by utility regulators regarding Eversource rates. They are challenging an “alternative regulation” framework that allows Eversource to raise rates based on a formula without proving investment prudence, which normally is a requirement. Both the Department of Energy and the Consumer Advocate contend that this framework is unlawful and that the Public Utilities Commission’s approval process was flawed.
