Ministry of Foreign Affairs Special Envoy Yue Xiaoyong visited Afghanistan and Pakistan in March 2026, urging both sides to remain calm, cease fire, and resolve conflicts through dialogue. Both Afghanistan and Pakistan thanked China for its mediation and expressed willingness to resolve issues through political means.

From March 7 to 14, 2026, Special Envoy for Afghanistan Affairs Yue Xiaoyong of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs visited Afghanistan and Pakistan, mediating between the two countries on recent conflicts. In Afghanistan, he met separately with Foreign Minister Mutaki and Minister of Commerce Azizi. In Pakistan, he met separately with Foreign Secretary Amna and Special Representative for Afghanistan Sadiq, who is also the Prime Minister’s special envoy. He urged both sides to remain calm and restrained, to cease fire and end the war as soon as possible, and to resolve differences through dialogue.

Both Afghanistan and Pakistan expressed gratitude for China’s mediation and indicated willingness to resolve issues through political diplomacy.
