Anchr recently raised $5.8 million in seed funding (approximately 8.352 billion Korean won) to integrate artificial intelligence into the food distribution industry. Investors in this round include a16z Speedrun, Anthera Capital, Offline Ventures, Long Journey Ventures, and OpenAI.

Whether ordering at a restaurant or buying tomatoes at the supermarket, the complex supply chain behind these everyday scenarios is at work. This system, which handles billions of dollars annually, still relies on text information, spreadsheets, and traditional systems designed decades ago. Anchr aims to improve these manual-dependent legacy systems through AI automation.

Co-founder and Co-CEO Jack Tarapowala said, “Our goal is to add an intelligent layer to everyday team collaboration to automate the boring parts of work,” showing optimism about creating business value. Co-CEO Smaiyan Mehra further envisioned, “Next-generation enterprise software will focus on automating record-keeping.”

One customer automated processes to save 40% of their sales team’s daily work time; another successfully increased their average order value by $65 (about 86,400 Korean won). In the future, Anchr plans to deepen automation across all distribution levels and provide transparency and growth opportunities for various supply chains involved in physical goods circulation.
