Brazil’s crypto market saw fast growth and rising interest from investors in 2025. A new report from Mercado Bitcoin shows that people now invest in digital assets with clear plans
Users are focusing more on long-term goals, not just quick trades. The findings point to a maturing market with broader participation across regions, ages, and risk profiles.
Crypto Investing Grows Stronger in Brazil
According to the research, crypto use in Brazil grew quickly in 2025. Total transaction volume increased by 43% from the year before. The average amount invested by each user also went above $1,000.
The report says the average investor now holds about 5,700 Brazilian reais in digital assets. This shows that people are more serious and are thinking long term. The report, called “Raio-X do Investidor em Ativos Digitais 2025,” shows a change in how people invest
Users now try to keep their investments balanced. About 18% of investors put their money into more than one crypto asset. This shows a growing interest in spreading risk instead of betting on just one coin.
Bitcoin Leads as Stablecoins Gain Ground
Bitcoin (BTC) remained the most traded asset on the platform in 2025. Investors also showed strong interest in stablecoins, especially the US dollar-pegged USDT, followed by Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL)
Stablecoins played a key role as entry points for users who wanted lower price swings. Transactions involving stablecoins tripled from the prior year as investors looked for safety during uncertain global conditions.
Lower-risk crypto products gained strong momentum. Digital fixed-income products, known in Brazil as Renda Fixa Digital, more than doubled in investment volume, rising by 108% year over year
Mercado Bitcoin distributed about $325 million to investors through these products in 2025. This growth reflects demand for predictable returns within the digital asset space.
Investor demographics also changed. Users aged 24 and below saw a 56% increase from last year. Growth also happened in every other age group. Wealthy individuals and large investors joined in as well, showing more trust in the crypto market.
Crypto Adoption Spreads Across Brazil
Brazil’s Southeast and South still had the highest transaction activity, led by São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. At the same time, more people from the Central-West and Northeast regions started using crypto. This shows that crypto adoption is spreading across the country, not just in major financial cities.
Traditional finance players also took note. Itaú Asset Management advised investors to allocate between 1% and 3% of their portfolios to Bitcoin. The firm cited rising geopolitical risks, changes in monetary policy, and currency volatility
Strategist Renato Eid described Bitcoin as a unique asset with its own return pattern and a possible hedge, even with its sharp price swings during 2025.
