A new governance voice has emerged within the Aave ecosystem. Community member Ernesto Boado has submitted an ARFC proposal at the DAO level, with the core demand focusing on the ownership issue of brand assets—he advocates that AAVE token holders should reclaim full control over the Aave brand, including key assets such as domain names and official social media accounts.

The current situation is a bit complicated. Third parties such as Aave Labs and BGD Labs currently hold actual control over these assets. The logic of the proposal is very clear: these assets should be transferred to a legal entity controlled by the DAO, with the aim of blocking the possibility of private individuals profiting from brand assets.

It's easy to say, but what about the implementation? The proposal is clear—if the relevant parties do not cooperate in transferring the assets, the DAO reserves the right to resolve the issue through legal means. To ensure that the process is fair and transparent, the asset delivery will be conducted by a third-party organization independent of the service providers.

This reflects an increasingly common topic in the DeFi ecosystem: the balance between decentralized governance and asset control. For leading protocols like Aave, control over brand and governance directly affects community confidence.
