⏺The company OpenAI has secured up to 40% of the world's RAM for years to come. The company has entered agreements with Samsung and SK Hynix, which produce about 70% of the RAM in the world. Under the contracts, OpenAI receives approximately 900,000 wafers per month — this amounts to tens of millions of modules and up to half of the world's DRAM production.

Memory is purchased at the level of chips, rather than in the form of ready-made modules, to outmaneuver other customers. They are used for AI data centers and the StarGate project. Contracts are valid for a minimum of 2029 with possible extensions. Cheap RAM will become scarce in the future.
