Browser-based rendering just hit a new milestone. Streaming with level-of-detail optimization is finally working smoothly.



Managed to run a flythrough with over 100 million splats rendered directly in the browser—sounds wild, right? The trick was chunking the splats into roughly 900 pages, keeping around 16 million in the active working set at any given time. This approach actually scales.

Here's the thing: theoretically, this should handle massive worlds of arbitrary size now. The memory management stays lean, the rendering stays responsive. But I need to push it further.

So here's an open question for anyone working with large-scale 3D data: if you've got a billion-splat dataset lying around, I'd love to stress-test this. Let's see where the real limits are.

Wow, can it really run 100 million rendering points? The browser has really taken off. A billion data points? I feel like I should give it a try, but the graphics card will probably cry, haha. The idea of 900 pages of pagination is quite smart, but I don't know how it will actually perform. If it can run stably, the webgl ecosystem will have another wave of competition.
