GameFi has indeed seen a bit of a resurgence lately, especially with various new gameplay emerging from the combination of on-chain games and AI agents. Recently, I conducted a randomness practice using VRF Agent and also created a small meme lottery dapp, which was quite insightful.

The most intuitive benefit is fairness. Verifiable random proof is indeed different—once the lottery results are on-chain, they become an audit record that cannot be tampered with, making it much more reliable than those semi-centralized random schemes, and it is also difficult to manipulate manually. The integration is not complicated either; there are code examples in the documentation, and following them for an afternoon will basically get you through.

After adding ATTP, there are new features. Agents transmit random seeds through encrypted channels, combined with ZK verification, and the verification speed is not compromised, making the logic tighter. I have conducted high concurrency tests on performance — during a simultaneous lottery draw with a hundred people, there was no noticeable delay or jitter, and the throughput could reach up to 4000 tx/s. Additionally, it has a relatively complete approach to cross-chain (even mentioning the follow-up planning of Bitcoin's Lightning Network), which indeed has imaginative potential for scenarios like multi-chain traffic distribution in blockchain games.

That said, the shortcomings are quite obvious. There is still room for optimization in Gas costs; it’s manageable on the BNB Chain, but it starts to hurt when switching to Ethereum. The main issue is that the multi-layer verification on top of ZK generation in VRF requests results in a significantly higher Gas consumption per call compared to traditional VRF solutions—I'm estimating it's about 20% more. When compared to some lighter alternatives, the cost difference is indeed worth considering.
