Google TPU抢市场,联发科(2454)接单势不可挡,这波AI芯片版图大洗牌

Taiwanese Manufacturers Welcome ASIC Transition

The AI chip market is changing rapidly. According to the latest rumors, Meta will adopt Google’s self-developed TPU acceleration chips on a large scale between 2026 and 2027, and lease computing power through Google Cloud. This move may seem ordinary, but it subtly signals that the cloud giants are officially challenging NVIDIA’s territory. MediaTek(2454), as a core partner in the Google ASIC design ecosystem, saw its stock price hit the daily limit today, closing at 1300 NT dollars, reflecting the market’s concrete response to this wave of transformation.

Billion-dollar Market Opportunities Are Taking Shape

MediaTek CEO Cai Lixing previously signaled that the company’s first AI accelerator ASIC project is progressing smoothly, with cloud ASIC revenue expected to reach the billion-dollar mark by 2026. Even more ambitiously, the target for 2027 is in the tens of billions of dollars. Meanwhile, the company has revised upward the overall scale of the data center ASIC market from 40 billion USD to 50 billion USD, reflecting industry optimism about AI infrastructure investment.

If Meta truly shifts to the TPU solution, Google will transform from a cloud service provider into an AI infrastructure supplier, potentially capturing about 10% of the market share from NVIDIA. This opportunity is crucial for MediaTek — the company plans to seize 10%-15% of the data center ASIC market within the next two years. As the overall market expands, even maintaining existing market share offers considerable revenue growth potential.

Industry Chain Moves in Unison, Beneficiaries Expand

The TPU topic has triggered a chain reaction. Server supply chain companies such as Hon Hai, Delta Electronics, and Wistron are rallying strongly. Photonics-related groups including PowaWave and LightOn are even hitting the daily limit. This reflects the industry’s optimistic outlook on the new AI cycle within Taiwan’s semiconductor and electronics sectors.

MediaTek has now begun negotiations with a second large-scale data center operator. The new project is expected to contribute revenue starting from 2028, further consolidating the company’s position in the ASIC field. Industry analysts believe that Google’s TPU has gained attention due to the success of the Gemini 3 model. The fact that Meta favors it proves that the market is beginning to accept hybrid architecture solutions. With solid ASIC design capabilities and the existing advantages of Taiwanese manufacturers in data center construction and component supply, MediaTek is poised to seize the opportunity in this wave of AI infrastructure transition and迎來 its own harvest period.
