Lighter L2 perpetual and spot trading circuit has completed auditing, open-source verification code is now available

Abstract generation in progress

【Blockchain Rhythm】Lighter team announced a major update on December 26th: the zk circuits for perpetual and spot trading have passed audit, and the related code has been officially open-sourced. What does this mean? In simple terms, all order placements, cancellations, and liquidation operations on Lighter L2 can be independently verified, making the true validity completely transparent.

How does it work specifically? Developers can directly pull the build scripts from GitHub to generate the ZkLighterVerifier tool, then perform consistency checks with the contracts already deployed on the Ethereum mainnet. In other words, you don’t need to trust anyone’s promises; the code speaks for itself. This approach is crucial for building trust in the L2 ecosystem—using cryptography to guarantee rather than relying on brand endorsement. For developers and users pursuing on-chain transparency, this update is definitely worth paying attention to.

The audit has been completed and the code has been open-sourced. It sounds convincing, but in reality, how many people actually verify it? Most still trade blindly as usual.

Still analyzing data at 2 AM... The zk circuits have been audited, which means Lighter's order book depth can finally be genuinely verified, not just theoretical.

Open-sourcing the code for verification is indeed necessary; it's more practical than just talking about it.

Open-sourcing the code is indeed tough, but finally an L2 dares to reveal its cards.

Hey, that's more like it. Finally, some L2s are willing to open up their code for verification.

Open-sourcing the code makes it solid. No more listening to project teams boast. This is what Web3 is supposed to look like.

Open-sourcing the code still requires you to verify it yourself; that's true transparency. Otherwise, it's just self-deception.

This is true transparency, not just lip service. Open-source code can be verified, which is much more reliable than some projects that just keep shouting "trust me" every day.
