What's the real bottleneck holding back Solana's path to 1 billion users? It's not just speed or fees anymore.

The infrastructure is there. The throughput is there. But adoption requires something deeper—solving the trust and onboarding friction that still plagues most blockchain networks.

SOL's competitive edge lies in its ability to process transactions at scale while keeping the user experience seamless. Compare that to earlier L1 solutions, and the gap becomes obvious. Speed doesn't matter if nobody knows how to use it.

The next wave won't come from traders or defi power users. It'll come from mainstream apps that happen to run on Solana without users even realizing it. That's the inflection point we're watching for.

The question isn't whether SOL can handle a billion users. It's whether the ecosystem can build the bridges to bring them in.

This guy finally hit the nail on the head. I mentioned three years ago — speed and fees have never been the real bottlenecks; the key is trust and traffic entry points.

Well said. Actually, the current bottleneck for SOL is this—no matter how fast or cheap it is, novice users still can't understand the concepts of wallets and gas fees, and their trust hasn't increased. Infrastructure has long been sufficient; the real bottleneck is "how to make ordinary people use it seamlessly." Invisible integration is the key.

After all the talk, it still boils down to ecosystem development. Isn't this old news... But on the other hand, the idea of invisible usage is indeed reliable; users don't even realize they're on the chain.

That's right, infrastructure is not the bottleneck; user experience is. Now it's all about who can get this done smoothly.

Well said, adopting invisibility is the ultimate goal. Those still arguing about TPS haven't grasped the point.

No matter how good the infrastructure is, it's useless if the human factor can't be overcome. Ten years have passed, and we're still dreaming of "invisible applications." But what’s the result? Users don't care how fast you are; they only care about safety and whether they'll be cut off. This narrative is no different from the promises made during Ethereum 2.0...

Well said, someone finally hit the nail on the head. Speed is just a trivial matter; the key is to make it so that ordinary people can use it effortlessly. What Solana currently lacks are applications that make users feel "I didn't realize I was using blockchain," right? The ecosystem needs to work hard to build these bridges.

That's right, the real bottleneck is that ordinary people simply don't know what Solana is... What's the use of fast speed?
