empirically speaking, this framing conflates autonomy with decentralization—two fundamentally different constructs. the data suggests most people conflate "not asking permission" with actual governance capacity, which... isn't the same thing at all.

Exactly right, freedom is the ultimate goal. Having more coins doesn't really matter; the key is to be your own master and not have to look at anyone's face.
