China launches world's first 30MW pure hydrogen turbine

Mingyang Group has successfully launched Jupiter I, the world’s first 30 MW gas turbine running entirely on pure hydrogen, now operating stably in Inner Mongolia

The system solves a key renewable energy problem by storing excess wind and solar power as hydrogen via electrolysis, then converting it back into electricity during peak demand, delivering zero carbon emissions at generation

Compared with a thermal power unit of similar size, Jupiter I can cut over 200,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year
