Year-end review, I just want to say one thing: there are indeed many talented people around me, but most of them have become brothers and sisters in my social circle or drinking buddies at dinner, rather than true partners in business or sources of intellectual collision. Clearly, we had the chance to elevate our assets together, but instead, our consumption habits have upgraded together.

This is the problem—idle chatting wastes time, and opportunities slip away from our fingertips. Next year, I will change my strategy: talk less about trivial topics and focus more on opportunities that can generate compound interest.

I've set a new tag for myself in the new year: "Ask at least once a week." Asking questions is proactive learning, discovering cognitive blind spots, and finding entry points for collaboration with experts. Instead of passively receiving information, it's better to actively seek answers and opportunities.

Exactly, it's us who are like this --- A bunch of drinking buddies, not a single partner --- Thinking about it just makes me tired, always talking about coin prices --- Asking questions is indeed a clear-headed approach, much better than just blabbering --- Asset levels haven't improved, but dining out more often has gone up haha --- The key is who dares to ask questions proactively, social anxiety is real --- I set a weekly question-asking goal and give myself full marks; just talking without action is useless --- There are indeed many experts, but they are all busy with their own stuff --- Compound interest opportunities? I think first you need to have the opportunity, right? --- Real conversations are too few, most chats are just nonsense --- This reflection is a bit harsh, but it's indeed the truth

Haha, this is the reality. Everyone is upgrading their consumption, but who is upgrading their cognition? That's right, learning to ask questions is the beginning of getting ahead. Daily dinners and social gatherings—no matter how strong your connections are, they’re useless if you can't have meaningful conversations. One question a week sounds simple, but sticking to it will definitely bring great gains. I've noticed that the more skilled people are, the more they enjoy chatting with those who can ask good questions; others get filtered out. This thing called compound interest probably starts from asking serious questions one by one, right?

Isn't this the mistake we all make? That really hits home.

That really hit me. Truly. In the first half of the year, I was still thinking about sticking together for warmth, but only in the second half did I realize clearly — most so-called "elite social circles" are just consumer upgrade clubs. I agree with asking questions, but the key is to ask the right people and the right questions.
