Imagine a country whose oil export revenue is settled with stablecoins for 80% of the transactions—this is not science fiction, but a reality happening now.

Since 2020, a state-owned energy company has shifted almost all of its oil transactions to USDT payments. Funds bypass traditional banking systems and go directly into designated wallets or are quickly converted into other stablecoins through intermediaries. U.S. economic sanctions are significantly less effective in the face of this process.

A more realistic scenario is that, as the local fiat currency continues to depreciate into worthless paper, ordinary people begin relying on stablecoins for daily life. At the national level, they use it to evade sanctions; at the individual level, to protect assets—stablecoins have quietly become both a strategic tool and a basic necessity.

Interestingly, despite recent political fluctuations, analysts’ consensus is clear: this stablecoin settlement model has become an integral part of the system and cannot be stopped. Instead, it may trigger regulatory agencies to initiate deeper on-chain tracking, making fund flows fully transparent.

In simple terms, this has gone beyond just "bypassing sanctions." When stablecoins become a national-level clearing tool, and wallet addresses serve as oil account proxies, blockchain is gradually rewriting the geopolitical rules of finance. Institutions that once controlled global settlement are being slowly eroded by new technological architectures.

What do you think? How long can this national-level crypto settlement last? Will regulators really take action against stablecoins?
