The story of BEAMX brings up a question: why do we still entrust our assets to platforms for custody?
Over the years, people have become accustomed to being controlled by platforms. Accounts are in someone else's hands, private keys are in someone else's hands, and the fate of assets is beyond one's control. Every time a platform encounters issues, users are forced to bear the consequences — this should have changed long ago.
Self-custody changes the game. When assets truly belong to you, no one can move them. Not an exchange, not a bank, and not any intermediary. You control the keys, you control the future. This is the core promise of Web3.
Your assets, your keys, your rights to choose. This is not an ideal; it is the baseline.

Exactly right. Self-custody really needs to be promoted, since putting money on platforms isn't reassuring anyway.

Honestly, it was already time to reflect. It was too late to regret when the platform ran away.

Well said, but look at how many people actually dare to manage their own keys? Most are still hesitant.

Well said, self-custody is indeed the only way out, no other options.

Well said, self-custody is real, but the problem is that most people can't even manage their private keys, so what control are we talking about?

Honestly, after being exploited by the platform so many times and still trusting them with custody, my head is really waterlogged. Self-managed private keys are the real deal; everything else is nonsense.

Well said, self-custody is the way to go. But to be honest, many people only realize this after being scammed...
