South Korea legalizes token securities through the token securities systemization bill, allowing compliant issuers to directly issue token securities via blockchain.

BlockBeats News, January 15 — According to Yonhap News Agency, the South Korean National Assembly today passed amendments to the Capital Markets Act and the Electronic Registration of Stocks and Bonds Act, institutionalizing token securities (STO). The amendments introduce an issuer account management system, allowing qualified issuers to directly issue token securities using blockchain technology, and enabling the enhancement of security and practicality of securities through blockchain technology. This provides a legal basis for the issuance and circulation of new digital securities.
