Have you ever calculated how many photos, videos, and various files you've uploaded to the cloud and social platforms over the past ten years? Now I ask you—are these data truly yours?

There's a harsh reality: if a platform shuts down tomorrow or suddenly informs you that you've violated a clause you never read, all those digital memories and labor成果 could disappear overnight. This is not alarmism; it happens every year.

We face two paths. One is the old route we've been on for over a decade—convenient and comfortable, but all data is held by big companies, and rules are dictated by them. The other is the new world promised by Web3—complete ownership and control of data returned to users. It sounds incredibly appealing.

The problem is, this new path has a huge obstacle right in front of us: storage.

This is the key. Many blockchain projects now seem highly decentralized, but upon closer inspection, data storage remains highly centralized. No matter how beautiful the promises, if storage can't be solved, the entire vision of Web3 is just a castle in the air.

There is a project that has been quietly working on this, with little hype and even a bit of a "techie" low profile. But what it is addressing is precisely the most core and difficult issue connecting Web3's great promises with the real world. If you can clarify this logic, you'll find that this is not just a technical project, but a real opportunity for ordinary people to truly own their digital future.

nah this storage problem is basically the whole game... most of these "decentralized" chains are just cosplaying, data's still locked up somewhere sketchy. the whole web3 narrative collapses without solving this first.

My goodness, I never thought that my data doesn't actually belong to me... Storage issues are indeed the Achilles' heel of Web3, that hits too close to home. Oh my, really, those photos and videos could be gone with a single account ban someday, it's terrifying to think about. Web3 sounds wonderful, but decentralized storage still needs more time; it's still pseudo-decentralized for now. Those who work quietly and diligently are actually more reliable; they are much more genuine than the projects that boast every day. If this wave can truly solve the storage problem, it would definitely be an opportunity. Until then, we still have to cautiously use products from big companies; there's no other choice. I agree, if you don't pay attention to data sovereignty, you'll regret it when the time comes. It seems that Web3 still needs several more years to become truly usable in terms of storage. Having others hold your digital future feels so passive and uncomfortable.

Oh my god, I suddenly realize that my ten years of electronic trash are all in someone else's hands. Did you really read the platform's user agreement? Anyway, I didn't. Storage issues are indeed a major flaw. The so-called decentralization now is just switching to a different big boss. This is the real problem Web3 should be tackling head-on, not just hyping concepts. Let's take a look at those projects that claim to be decentralized; storage is still stuck due to a few nodes. Interesting, let's see who can really pull this off.

Bro, you hit the nail on the head. I still have to dig out photos from ten years ago. No one really takes storage seriously. They just know how to hype the concept of decentralization. The structure is still the same old way. Honestly, we're just tenants. Whose place we rent depends on the landlord's mood.
