Pi Network is currently evaluating the integration of "palm print recognition" into the KYC system to further enhance the authenticity of identity verification and overall security. Palm print is a highly accurate biometric technology; each person's palm print and palm vein distribution are unique, making it difficult to forge, which helps effectively prevent issues such as duplicate accounts, bot mining, and identity theft.
Currently, this feature is still in testing or phased deployment and is not fully open to all users at once. In the future, it may run in parallel with existing facial recognition and document verification mechanisms to improve KYC approval efficiency and accelerate mainnet migration.
As Pi Network continues to develop its mainnet ecosystem and practical applications, establishing a reliable "one person, one account" identity system is seen as a key long-term foundation. However, biometric recognition also involves high privacy and data security concerns, and the official plans for data storage and protection methods are yet to be announced.
