Korea-U.S. tariff dispute takes a turn at Incheon Airport; Kim Jong-gwan issues a clarification statement

When Jin Jeong-gwan issued a statement at Incheon Airport, he mentioned that the US seeks investment legislation that will be implemented by Korea as soon as possible. This has become an important issue in this round of talks. He stated that this visit to the US allows both sides to communicate their positions more deeply, which helps to enhance mutual understanding. During this period, Jin Jeong-gwan held two formal meetings with US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo. In these discussions, Korea explained its policy stance in detail, aiming to dispel potential US concerns—especially regarding whether Korea is delaying the introduction of relevant legislation. Through direct dialogue, both sides clarified previous misunderstandings and reached further consensus on future cooperation directions.
