Trump's $10 billion defamation lawsuit against BBC scheduled for trial in February 2027

BlockBeats News, February 12 — The $1 billion defamation lawsuit filed by Donald Trump against the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is scheduled to go to trial in February 2027, one of several lawsuits initiated after his return to the White House. U.S. District Judge Roy K. Altman signed an order in Miami on Wednesday to set the trial date. The judge, appointed by Trump, also required the president and the BBC to complete mediation by November 3.

Trump’s lawsuit stems from misleading edits in a documentary before the 2024 election — the segment implied that he directly called for violence during a speech supporting supporters attacking the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
