SambaNova Systems has unveiled its new SN50 AI processor and secured $350 million in Series E funding, with Intel Capital participating. The company aims to challenge Nvidia by offering an alternative for AI inference through its new RDU chip, designed for high-performance training and inference of large language models. SambaNova is collaborating with Intel to create an AI cloud platform combining its SN50 chips with Intel’s Xeon CPUs, leveraging Intel’s reach to broaden its market presence.
