Toyota's Comprehensive Strategy: The Resolve to Keep Internal Combustion Engines

On December 5, 2025, at the “Woven City” technology verification city in Susono City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, Toyota demonstrated its determination.

Toyota announced three upcoming ultra-luxury sports cars. The “GR GT,” expected to be released around 2027, will be equipped with a 4-liter V8 engine for the first time in a production vehicle.

The hybrid vehicle (HV) “Prius” has an engine displacement of 1.8 to 2.0 liters. Amid increasingly strict environmental regulations, the car introduces a large-displacement engine. As a production vehicle, it will achieve world-class standards and is positioned as the pinnacle of sports cars.
