BTC network sees a half-empty Block! Is the Virtual Money market Fluctuation upgrading again?
Recently, according to ChainCatcher, an eye-catching phenomenon occurred in the BTC network at height 878889: a miner dug out a semi-empty Block. This event quickly attracted widespread attention in the industry and became the focus of discussion in the Virtual Money market.
Half Block appeared, mempool data reveals the truth
According to mempool data, the time interval between this empty Block and the previous Block is only 87 seconds, which is much lower than the normal Block generation time of the BTC network. @mononautical, the founder of mempool, has interpreted this phenomenon, pointing out that all the transactions in this unfilled f2pool Block were broadcasted in the previous minute or so. This phenomenon indicates that the Block producer node may have (re)started without the mempool.dat file or has not started loading it when requesting the template, resulting in the failure to timely receive enough transactions for packaging.
History repeats itself, the last event was five months ago.
It is worth noting that the last time the BTC network experienced a similar event of a half-empty Block, it can be traced back to Block height 855363, about five months ago. The similarity of these two events undoubtedly deepens the industry's concerns and discussions about the stability of the BTC network.
Virtual Money market Fluctuation intensifies, investors need to be cautious
As the cornerstone of the Virtual Money market, any movement in the BTC network may cause significant fluctuations in the market. The recent Block incident serves as a reminder to investors to remain vigilant and closely monitor market trends in order to make rational investment decisions.
