On March 14, according to multiple US media outlets citing Iraqi security officials, a missile struck the helicopter landing pad of the US Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq. On-site footage shows a clear smoke column rising above the embassy.
The US Embassy in Baghdad is one of the largest American diplomatic facilities in the world and has previously been targeted multiple times by rocket fire and drone attacks from Iran-backed militia groups.
Notably, as news of the attack emerged, the US side continued to claim externally that operations achieved a "complete victory," with officials yet to provide detailed explanations regarding this explosion.
